There are many makes of Dog clipper machines but they all have the same function and comprise similar parts. They may be mains or battery powered. They do tend to have a tough life, especially when used in salons, often working 3-4 hours per day in quite harsh conditions. Regular servicing provides confidence that they will work properly when required.
We can service and repair most types of Dog clippers. We follow a 15 point service checklist which comprises external clean and inspection, dismantle, internal cleaning (hair removal mainly!), visual inspection of the mechanical and electrical components, plug and lead inspection and test, filter clean, carbon brush check, blade latch & spring check, drive lever check, grease appropriate parts, reassemble and test. NOTE; If faulty parts are found we will contact you to advise replacement costs prior to repair.
If you send us battery powered clippers please ensure that they are fully charged.
There are also many makes of Horse Clipping machines and they too can be either mains or battery powered. Usually the battery powered ones have a separate battery pack which clips to your belt and have a coiled lead to the clipper itself. A good tip if using mains supplied clippers is to ALWAYS USE AN RCD DEVICE to protect yourself, and the horse, should the horse stand on the lead - especially in steel shoes. Horse clippers generally get far less use than dog clippers, many just once per year for a couple of hours, then they can sit in cold or damp conditions, in winter, hot and humid conditions, in summer, until the next outing. Unsurprisingly many can fail so its a good idea to get them serviced prior to the clipping season or on a regular basis if they are used more frequently.
